A Syrian drama series that depicts life in Damascus in the late eighteenth century. The main storyline revolves around the extreme poverty-stricken Mahmoud (The fava beans maker) who lives with his mother in a small house which he owns half of, while his mother was forced to mortgage the other half to Abu Kassem, the coffee shop owner.
